COVID 19 – Reducing spread of infection UK Government dated 23 September 2020 (Simple guide)
The measures to be followed:
▪ All players should self-assess for COVID-19 symptoms before every training/activity session or match.
If you are symptomatic or living in a household with possible or actual COVID-19 infection, you must not
participate or attend the facility. You must make arrangements for a COVID-19 diagnostic Test via NHS
119
▪ Competitive training is now permitted, with groups limited to a maximum of 30 people, including
coaches. In the case of football on the 3G, the football will consist of 6 players on each side total of 12
players following social distancing 1-2 m.
▪ Drinks/refreshments and breaks – Activity organisers are providing drinks for their activity, and in the
case of children, parents are to provide drinks/refreshments to prevent the risk of transmission.
▪ Competitive match play will be played with social distancing in place before and after the match, and in
any breaks in play.
▪ Players and officials will need to sanitise hands before and after a game/activity as well as scheduled
breaks throughout a game or training session.
▪ Hand sanitiser stations are located upon entry to all available rooms within the centre with monitored
access to ensure maximum safety for all users.
▪ Ball handling will be kept to a minimum with most contact via a boot and the ball disinfected in breaks
of play; Football/activity organiser to provide clean wipes for the balls in use.
▪ In matches on the grass and 3G/Hardcourt areas, all shouting by players and by parents on the
sidelines is not permitted. This is because of the potential increased risk of transmission – particularly
from aerosol and droplet transmission.
▪ Goal celebrations should be avoided. All people, including users and people at the facility, must avoid
needing to raise their voices to each other unduly.
▪ At the start and during matches, all managers, coaches and parents must maintain social distancing –
2m to reduce risk of infection and spread.
▪ Equipment will not be shared, and goalkeepers will ensure they disinfect their gloves regularly in
breaks in training or matches and afterwards.
▪ Participants have been advised to follow best practice for travel, including minimising the use of public
transport and walking or cycling if possible. People from a household or support bubble can travel
together in a vehicle.
▪ The HCSA has advised indoor football, and Futsal is not permitted.
▪ Each club or group using the facilities must confirm before commencing at the centre that they have a
working track and trace system implemented. This could be their own system if users do not wish to use
the NHS Track and Trace App. To assist with the NHS Track and Trace App, QR Code posters for Active
Hampton location have been put up around the site. Random checks by HCSA will be performed to
ensure that this government guidance is being adhered to.
▪ The HCSA will allocate either toilet one or toilet two if requested to be used for users of the 3G, hard
court and grass pitches and it is the responsibility of the user(s) to clean touchpoints after use (handles,
toilet seat, sink, taps and light switch). These toilets are to be kept closed between usage to ensure the
safety of the facility and adhering to the social distancing guidance of 2m.
▪ Changing rooms are an area of increased risk of transmission. All attendees to arrive at the facility in
sports kit. Use of changing rooms and showering facilities is not permitted. A changing space/accessible
toilet area will only be available for participants with disabilities or special needs.
▪ Room 6 will be designated as the toilet access for 3G bookings if requested. Seating and shower areas
are cordoned off. A one in one out system implemented to ensure social distancing is applied. This room
must be requested at the time of booking and will be required to be cleaned as per toilet one/toilet two. A
full explanation of how this room is to be used will be explained on the first visit.
